GUARANTEE
This is a specimen of the wording of our standard treatment guarantee
The guarantee will be issued by Healthy Homes Ltd in respect of treatment carried out by the Company as described in any report together with any amendments and variations listed in the sheets issued by the Company and attached to the report.
Healthy Homes warrants that materials used for the treatment of fungal decay, insect infestation and rising dampness are in accordance with specification and will, for a period of TWENTY YEARS, provided the Company’s recommendations have been implemented, and maintained in effect: throughout that period prevent continuance or recurrence of fungal decay or infestation by wood boring insects in timbers treated for such, or will prevent dampness rising by capillary action in walls so treated.
Healthy Homes warrants that for a period of TWENTY YEARS after the completion of the treatment that it will, on production of this guarantee, the survey report, sketch plan, quotation and any amendment sheets, inspect the work and replace any treated timbers and re-treat any walls where a failure in the treatment has occurred at a mutually convenient time free of charge The Company reserves the right to make a nominal charge for inspection refundable in the event of a genuine claim under guarantee.
The guarantee will be rendered null and void where:
1. Evidence of reinfestation or recurring rising dampness is not reported to the Company as soon as it becomes apparent.
2. The treatment has been interfered with or damaged.
3. The property has not been maintained in good condition, or properly heated and ventilated.
4. The Company’s written recommendations have not been implemented and maintained in effect.
5. Infestation and dampness has spread from areas not treated by the Company.
No guarantee is offered for work not carried out by the Company.
In the event of disposal of the property under this guarantee the Company will recognise the successor in title as the person entitled to the benefit of the guarantee for its remaining term. The Company must be notified within three months, of any change in ownership and will charge a nominal administrative fee for re-registration.
