About Healthy Homes Glasgow
Healthy Homes Ltd was established in 1989. The company was focused on developing and applying a diagnostic and scientific approach to the eradication of timber decay and infestation from buildings.
In late 2000 current owner Stuart Mc Ginlay acquired the company from its former owners and continues the companies former ethos. The company is a member of the property care association protecting both the client and their clients for the future.
New survey procedures were adopted and new technologies researched into better ways of detecting the presence of rot in building timbers. The work is on-going and our procedures are continually under review to ensure Healthy Homes provides the best, most up-to-date service for its clients.
Throughout the 1980s the original owner director (George McGill) had became concerned about the widespread and wasteful application of chemical pesticides, especially in the tenement rehabilitation projects, where most of the wood preservative applications served no useful purpose.
Healthy Homes would follow a set of procedures for rot eradication that depended more on a good design and the strategic localised application of environment friendly pesticides. The amount of chemical pesticides would be reduced creating a healthier environment for our clients our personnel and public at large.
